HTPC News has posted a review on the Maxtor DiamondMax 9 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive

"Storage… When using a HTPC as a PVR device it is one of the things you don’t want to be caught short on. I made this mistake thinking a 120GB drive was enough storage for my OS, programs and TV recordings. While I don’t really record that much television, the rest of my family recorded a lot! It didn’t really set in how much my family uses the HTPC for TV recording until I went to install a game on my PC and discovered I no longer had enough free disk space. I went through and deleted as many older recordings as I could but knew this wasn’t the last time I would have this problem.

I eventually got a 250GB IDE hard drive for my HTPC thinking that would solve the problem they couldn’t possibly record that much without forgetting to delete some. WRONG! I decided that enough was enough! I had to separate the TV recordings to a different drive so they would not fill up my OS drive and corrupt something."
